FHSAA Eligibility Rules

Attention Athletes-- You are eligible if:

  1. You are a first semester freshman and are entering high school for the first time.

  2. You are a returning student and have a minimum of a cumulative 2.0 GPA (non-weighted) at Cypress Creek High School.

  3. You are a resident living with your parent(s) or legal guardian(s) in the Cypress Creek School District.

  4. You have not turned 19 years when school starts. 

  5. You have not already completed eight semesters in any high school, (i.e. you are not a fifth year senior). Your clock begins from the time you first enroll in high school.

  6. You are enrolled in the IB program or any other magnet program Cypress Creek sponsors that the district school you are zoned for does not provide.

  7. You are a home schooled/virtual school student and Cypress Creek High School is your zoned district school. 

Note: If you are not sure about your eligibility, talk to the Athletic Director.

 

Potential Athletes and Participants for Extracurricular Activities

This 11 page document (link below) includes all the forms and instructional sheets necessary to participate in Athletics & Extracurricular Activities of Marching Band, Color Guard, ROTC and Competition Dance Team. 

Read over all the information in the Extracurricular Packet.  There are instructional sheets for several of the requirements.

All FHSAA documents are digitally available for review and signature completion when you set up your profile through AthleticClearance.com . 

Digital submissions are required for all documents.

6.  Instructional sheet for 3 NFHS Course Certificates (for Athletics only)

ECG Screenings are mandatory for Athletes and Extracurricular Activities for all high schools across the district.  ECG Findings must be submitted AT LEAST ONCE during your high school time frameIncoming 9th graders ECG results must be dated AFTER January 2022.

Opportunities for students to complete their ECG are available through Who We Play For website along with completing this procedure with your physician. You can access this group at http://www.whoweplayfor.org to schedule at your convenience. This is a 3rd party whose main objective is to assist with ECG Screenings to identify those students who are at risk of a cardiovascular incident.  Registration and payment is directly to this group.  Their website will explain how they can assist with this process.
