Florencia is a brave, compassionate leader and advocate. She exudes positivity in the face of many obstacles and has the courage to use her voice through poetry and to stand up for what is right. Florencia is an exceptional student taking on the most rigorous coursework and is a role model to her peers through her kindness towards others.  Her work ethic, desire to give back to the community, and fearless ability to speak up for respect and equality all make her a true humanitarian.  She is an advocate for undocumented youth and an active member of the community by volunteering her time counseling youth at a local church, helping run community festivals, and providing championship to the elderly at a local nursing home. She is a part of of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program and participates in numerous clubs such as the Hispanic Student Association, Indian Student Association, Black Student Association, and Youth Empowerment and Leadership Learning. Florencia further shows leadership as the secretary of the poetry club and one of the public relations officer for the Student Government Association (SGA).  She is a star Varsity Lacrosse Team co-captain and has earned several awards for her writing and spoken word, including Page 15's Annual High School Writing Contest Winner, Third Place in the International Teen Talent Competition, and First Place in the Zone Two Teen Talent Competition.
