Community Service is defined as identifying a social issue in the community. This requires students to look beyond themselves and reach out to an issue faced by our society (i.e. poverty, abuse, elderly citizen rights). These hours will meet the requirements for the Florida Academic Scholars, Florida Medallion Scholars and Gold Seal Vocational scholarships. The completed hours will be recorded on the transcript of the student.
Please follow the below directions to make sure your community service is approved and recorded accurately.
Steps to Complete & Record Your Community Service & Work Hours
Step 1: Find an organization that will allow you to volunteer your time to the community. (Note: Many Cypress Creek clubs offer community service opportunities! Go to the Clubs page in the Student Body Canvas to view a club directory. If volunteering for a Cypress Creek High School club or organization, you must speak to the club sponsor.) Step 2: Complete Community Service Plan Form (linked below) Step 3: Fill out page 1 of the Community Service proposal form. Be sure all necessary signatures are obtained. Step 4: Log your hours and complete the reflection on page 2. Submit the form to your counselor. Please see the counselor contact page to find your counselor.
